Vision Solutions For Correcting Eyesight

by : Suzanne Hughes

Whether we are studying for long hours or working on our PCs or watching television, eyes are the foremost part that get directly affected. And this leads to their weakening. There are so many things to do and work on daily, that our eyes get stressed and with time need some help for correcting vision.

One good option for correcting the eyesight for proper vision is contact lens. Contact lenses are preferred by the people over glasses as their glasses often slide over noses, get dirtier and need cleaning, and develop fog in winter. Contact lenses are also comfortable while playing games, as they don't bounce up and down like glasses.

There are different types of contact lenses available in the marketplace. Even gift them to your loved ones as tokens of a remembrance or to celebrate a special day like Christmas or New Years, and even Thanksgiving Day or any day.

Popular types of lenses include:

Soft contact lenses - Soft contact lenses are preferred by most of the lens wearers as they contain high amounts of water rich in oxygen, passing freely through the eye. However, as the lenses are porous, they is prone to infection, hence the need to take them out at night to get disinfected.

Hard contact lenses - These lenses are made up of rigid material that is easy to clean but less comfortable than soft lenses. Hard lenses do also allow less oxygen to pass through eyes.

Rigid gas-permeable lenses - These are semi-hard lenses but provide more oxygen to the eye. An eye specialist often refers these to astigmatism patients.

Extended-wear lenses - These are special lenses that can be worn continuously without taking them out at night. These lenses offer certain conveniences like less cleaning but are permeable so the cornea gets infected easily, so use caution.

Disposable lenses - These lenses are used for certain limited periods like a day, a week or a month and then are thrown away. As these lenses are replaced regularly, there are less chances of eye infection. These lenses are made up of a thinner material and have higher water content and therefore are more comfortable for eyes.

Eyeglasses

The glasses are most commonly used by the people for correcting vision while doing daily activities. There are different types of lens used in glasses like polycarbonate or high-index lenses and regular plastic lenses. The glasses can be coated with certain coatings like ultraviolet coating or anti-reflective coating.

There are different types of frames in the market that can be used in glasses depending on the budget, material and durability. There are metal and plastic frames, available in different colors.

Buying Glasses Online

There are different online stores offering glasses at reasonable prices to the consumers. This is a fun activity that also helps the individual in selecting the glasses. You can try designer frames; for example, designer rectangular shaped frames are popular among women.

Laser Surgery

Laser eye surgery can correct common vision problems like nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism permanently. It's necessary to do a follow-up procedure to further correct the vision as after surgery the eyes need to adjust to the environment.
